5 Menopause Fitness Mistakes Almost All Women Make – Part 4

Menopause Fitness Mistake #4: Are you setting the bar too high?

Or trying for too much too soon?

Did you know that 80% percent of the New Year’s resolutions set in January FAIL by mid-February? How about the fact that only about 8% of people who make a New Year’s resolution actually stick to it all year?

This doesn’t just apply to January either. Research suggests that 92 percent of people who set goals fail to follow through and achieve them. Ninety-two percent!! 😱

So on the upside, if you’ve been struggling with your weight, health or fitness goals for a while, you are most certainly not alone. But why?

There are two major goal-setting mistakes I see women commonly make, so let me ask you:

1. Does your goal feel too darn BIG?

Setting the bar and aiming high is awesome. Unless it feels impossible, too far away and scary. That gets discouraging pretty darn quick.

2. Are you trying to do too much too soon?

It’s tempting to dive in head first to new habits and routines. You want results and you want them now! But if you try to change more than you’re ready for right now, well, you’re not likely to be able to keep it up.

This is why I teach my clients to focus on what IS achievable. Because…

Small wins stack up.

No matter how big your goals or how hard you try, you can’t succeed at what you can’t stick with.

☺️ Small achievements feel good.

🚀 Feeling good fuels motivation.

Building up small wins over time WILL carry you through to success.
